Time to check in with Dr. Goodkind on my Smart Lipo progress! And I [of course] brought along the video camera to share my consult with you. Dr. Goodkind takes a look at his handy work to see how I am doing.
I had a few questions for Dr. G:
• When can I start exercising [he said yes, I can now]
• Is it going to go down more in swelling/size [yes]
• Do I still have to wear the compression garment [at night if I want to]
• Should I be massaging myself [yes-it will help with the scar tissue]
• Is the itching okay [yes-that means it is healing]
Hi!!! Wednesday will be 3 weeks since my Smart Lipo procedure! Everything that Dr. G and the staff said would happen has happened!! I keep shrinking! I have never had legs shaped this way! I am straighter than ever before! I hope the after pics show the amazing difference because I am more than pleased!
However I am having clothing problems!! Pants & jeans are too big although, I was able to wear a skirt last week that I was never able to wear before!! I know bad problem to have!? WHOOOHOOO! Time to shop for better fitting pants!
FUZION wanted to find a way to educate people about different procedures, anti-aging products, the science behind the scenes and the latest technology. Then we found Erica!
We all have that “one thing” – big or small that we wish we could change. The longer you stare at it, the worse it gets. It may even have a little voice that says “FIX ME! FIX ME!” Before the voice starts screaming, take action! It is always better to treat a minor issue than a major one.
There is no age requirement to some of these services. You will hear people say “I am not old enough for BOTOX!” Well, I have 16 year old acne patients who have worse wrinkles than their parents. There are a few reasons for this: TANNING. Did you know that 80% of age related issues are from excessive sun? Think about it – 80%! GENETICS. In this case, you may be able to blame your ancestors. LIFESTYLE. Excessive free-radicals, lack of sleep, smoking, alcohol and dehydration all add up. Wrkinkles are very responsive to BOTOX, chemical peels and laser treatments. The most responsible thing you can do for yourself if a physical sunblock EVERYDAY- rain, snow, sleet, rain or shine. Chemical sunblocks can actually cause more free radicals and potentially more harm than good.
Acne is not just for teenagers anymore. Did you know that every hormonal fluctuation affects your skin? Acne is not caused by what you eat, or by specific products. Acne is a bacteria. It is treated in a variety of ways. For acne, FUZION aggressively treats all ages by utilizing specifically medically guided treatments. Vitamin A based treatments, specific acids and exfoliation remain the foundation of healing acne.
All laser treatments are NOT created equal! There are some centers in the area that tout BBL/IPL as laser treatments. These are not lasers, but broadbased light treatments that work on pigment. They are not specific wavelengths, or deep enough to reach the deep dermis where the collagen-vascular layer of your skin lives. BBL/IPL are effective for brown and red pigment changes, but should not be substitued for actual laser treatments. Make sure you ask a lot of questions. Know what you are getting and what you are paying for.
Credentials are important. Did you know that it is illegal in the state of Connecticut for nurses or estheticians to operate a laser? Nurses are allowed to operate a laser ONLY when an MD is actually ONSITE. It is also illegal for estheticians or Medical Assistants to administer injections. This is a safety measure for YOU! Beware that there are people administering medical procedures in the back rooms of nail and hair salons. Beware that untrained, non-medical personnel do not have the skills to treat you, manage potential complications or offer sound medical advice.
These are all important things for you to know – all you “Ericas” out there – the bottom line is you have to be educated. Knowledge is power.
Call, blog or email us your questions. We are here to teach you!
Some people believe. Some people don’t. Tomato. Tomaaahto.
I think Mary’s energy healing helped me a lot with my Smart Lipo procedure—and most importantly—healing. I thought it would be good to introduce you to Mary and let you hear about how she can help pre- and post- op [and during]. With a background as an RN, I feel right at home with how she has helped to “heal” me and her overall knowledge of the procedures and what was happening with my body.
My pain has been minimal. My draining has been non-existent. My result have been awesome. Coincidence? Hmmm…I don’t think so…
Have you ever tried energy healing? What do you think?
So I am having a weird side effect from my Smart Lipo procedure at FUZION.
I CAN’T EAT ANYTHING FATTENING!
Seriously, every time I look at sweet potato fries, burgers, cinnamon buns…all I see is the jar of fat that was sucked out of me! Has this happened to anyone else who has had Smart Lipo? Will this be a lasting “side effect?”
Wow to think that just last week was my first day without saddlebags! Kidding aside it has been a great week! I have gotten lots of emails, facebook & twitter messages of love and support. Thank you! I am doing great! I already notice a significant difference even though when I got my stitches removed yesterday they said I was still swollen! Can’t believe it -I am going to have straighter legs!!!
I wasn’t on CT Style today but I went to support Kati, which she did a great job explaining the Fraxel Co2 Laser… We also had the pleasure of meeting a choir from Uganda. The children sang and we all had tears in our eyes! In order to raise money to support their village they sell these great necklaces for $10! I am going to sell them at Ella so I will let you know when they arrive to be sold! They are having a concert next Saturday. Check back and I will post more information on them.
Peace, Love, & Lipo,
Erica
So yesterday was really cool. I got to see Kati use her the new Fraxel CO2 Re:Pair Laser on Debbie.
Sounds a little freaky, but she actually is giving Debbie a selective sunburn to help with pores, texture, wrinkles…all that good stuff. Clearly Kati can do a better job explaining what it is, exactly. But I wanted to share this with you since it is not something that I am doing!
So it’s only been 3 days and I can see a HUGE difference already! I’m a little sore, so I am not going crazy trying to scrub the grid off of my body yet. But I can’t believe how normal I feel…and how great!
I am sharing more with all of you than I ever have in my life. But this is so cool. If I could have really seen what to expect from Smart Lipo and all these other procedures, I may not have hesitated so much about doing it!
So what should you expect from these videos? We’ve broken them up into multiple videos so you can scroll through and we are giving you a lot to learn about. I think we are going to add a simplified summary video later, but the point of this is to share, so I want to make sure you get a real sense of what my Smart Lipo day was like.
We started by going over the information, waivers, additional questions and re-drew my bullseyes. Then Dr. Goodkind measured of 5×5 squares on my bullseyes so he perform the procedure in smaller sections.
Next, we got started! Dr. Goodkind did phase 1 of 3 for my procedure by heating the fat. Careful…this starts to get graphic from here on out…
Now comes the real graphic stuff…it’s suction time. Seriously, if you get queasy easily, you may want to be careful watching this. But I have to tell you, I was awake and yapping away during this. So I was okay!
Here is where we do my knees
And here is post-procedure when we go over my rules, talk more about “vigorous” exercising, etc…
So what do you think? Was it as bad as you thought? Better? Would you do it?
Sorry I keep using the word amazing- but it is truly Amazing!!! I had a very full day yesterday and was able to do it all! It obviously takes alot more than Smart Lipo to keep me down!
Dr. Goodkind just called to check on me and was very happy to hear how I was doing. I had no drainage, and very little swelling! I am still sore-it feels like I did 500 squats, and it is difficult to get in and out of my car because it is low to the ground…otherwise I am doing really well!
Last night my husband and I went to Prime 16 for a friend’s birthday dinner…everyone had amazing burgers and fries! I am having a hard time eating fatty food after seeing the jar of fat…so I chose a veggie burger and mixed greens- I did have a pumpkin beer that was amazing. I really have had a change in the way I feel about food and exercise-watch out world there is a new Erica on the loose!
