It was my first step to freshening up my skin for the new season…Affirm Laser treatment. It is to help stimulate the collagen in my skin. I did find out that we can stimulate the collagen in other areas of my body-hmmmm! We will save that for another day.
So I have the treatment, it stings a little, turns my face red, Michelle (make up artist) helps hide the redness, and I am off to a meeting- Watch the video to see what happened:
By the next morning the dots faded, my skin is a little dry like I had a bad sunburn. I lathered on the moisturizer and sunscreen and went to work and no one noticed!
Gotta love modern beauty treatments!
I have never felt more confident or happy with my appearance!!! I love my new body shape, as well as the appearance and feel of my skin! I am proud to smile and say “Hey look at me!” You too can improve and make small changes that give your confidence a boost.
Take for instance this past Friday night- My store Ella where She shops… and FUZION were just 2 of the sponsors for Girl’s Night Out Fashion Show in New Haven on Friday night over 200 women attended and we raised $8000 for Harbor Health Services!! The event was a blast! If you didn’t come this year you will have to join us next year! Check out the link to the slideshow on WTNH- http://www.wtnh.com/dpp/news/new_haven_cty/girls-night-out-in-new-haven
Michelle, FUZION’s in house makeup artist, joined us at the event to apply makeup to our models. She applies makeup to accentuate your facial features without looking like a clown. Michelle is available Monday-Friday to teach you makeup techniques. With the holidays upon us it is the perfect time to have just the right lip gloss or eye liner…
If you aren’t sure about having any of the procedures that I have done stop by the store to see the results for yourself!!! FUZION and Ella were going to have a few evening events in December that you can stop by and meet us in person- we will let you know the schedule-
How come no one told me how addictive Twilight is? I swear, I started reading that book and I could not put it down last night! I was up until at least 2am!
Now I need to keep going…I must know what happens next. Are Bella and Edwards going to live happily ever after? I have to read New Moon right away so I can be ready for the movie. WOW. Who would have guessed?
Anyway, my new found obsession means I couldn’t drag myself out of bed Monday morning for my meeting. Luckily it’s okay for me to be a little more funky. And I really do feel so much more comfortable with just a little bit of makeup now!
The summer months are drawing to a close. Although this was an unusual one, I still see, as I look around most people getting a little summer color and feeling good about their skin because of this. Skin appearance is also helped by the humidity and the various lotions one applies to protect themselves. Now with fall quickly approaching, you will find that your healthy glow will change to a dry, tired and dull look unless you involve yourself with a personalized skin care regime. I know I’m the surgeon in the Fuzion group and do know my limitations with regard to non surgical maneuvers, but just like all of you, I am learning fast. Do yourself a huge favor and consult with Michele, Laura or Kati and start a program that you will find tremendous value in. Like anything else in life, it takes some time and commitment, but I am sure you will find the results quite rewarding.

I know we talked this week about how you can use your glominerals to look tan, then I saw you asked here, so I thought I would share with everyone! Here is how I recommend getting your fake glow.
If you want to try glominerals, you just can’t do a great Bronzed face without:
> glogolden bronzing stick [glo minerals]
> globronze [sunkiss or sunlight] [glo minerals]
> glosheer tintbase bronzing gel [glo minerals]
> a great powder brush [real, non-synthetic]
Technique:
For a Bronzed face, you don’t need sponges…all you need are your fingers and a brush. I always start with a powder bronzer once I’ve applied the base. One of the most important tricks with giving yourself a sun-kissed look is to always apply bronzer where the sun would naturally hit—your forehead, bridge of your nose, and of course, your cheeks. When applying, make sure you make a “C” shape from your temple to the middle of your cheek bone. BLEND. BLEND. BLEND. You never want to see a line. You can always add a little more pop of color to your cheeks with a slightly brighter shade of blush. And to get the “fresh from the beach” look, make sure you use a sheer coral hue gloss [I recommend glominerals lipgloss in persimmons].
For an even more dramatic look, you can use a gel bronzer mixed in with your moisturizer and follow the steps above.
So I have been using Latisse now for about a month. Brooke Shields is the new spokesperson and is everywhere promoting her beautiful eye lashes! I hadn’t heard of it before, but when I started this medical aesthetic makeover, lengthening my eye lashes was one of the items on my list that Kati scheduled.
Kati reviewed everything with me, but I wanted to share a little bit about Latisse with you [after all, I am supposed to be researching for you and me!]. It promises longer, fuller, darker eye lashes. Here is some info on what I can expect.
I’ll post more videos soon too. Oh, and we have been working on the timeline and a new feature on the site too. The timeline will let you see quickly, at a glance what I’ve done to-date and what we have scheduled. The new feature is going to be a way for you to see what treatments Kati and Dr. G. might recommend for different skin conditions or “problem areas” you want help with.
I thought I would share my attempt to apply my makeup on my own with everyone. Michelle certainly does make it look easy. But I think I am getting the hang of this. My makeup came out okay. Now if the humidity would die down…it isn’t helping my curls!
This week is a fun recovery week. I am taking a little time off from any treatments or procedures. So I went to see Michelle, the resident makeup artist extraordinaire at FUZION. Next week I’ll be getting some dermaplaning done. Kati, can you explain to everyone [and me] what that is, exactly. I think you mentioned it gets the “fuz” off your face. Elaborate!
Anyway, here are a few videos where Michelle is teaching me how to apply my glomineral makeup. It’s super healthy and lightweight. And fine to wear even just after chemical peels and other treatments.
Today was a good day at the shop. The craziest thing is that people are starting to notice a change! They’re not quite sure what’s different, but they know that something is…
I want you to keep following me but I don’t want you to wait until my adventure is done for you to see your own results!! Today is one week after my 1st chemical peel & I can’t remember the last time my face felt so soft & looked so clean! My husband has started to refer to me as the “beautiful face lady” & he is right!
It’s so funny…people are starting to recognize me around town and now they are stopping me to ask what they should have done! To be honest, I don’t know. I’m not the expert—that’s why I am trusting FUZION! So please don’t think me rude, I just don’t know…
But if you’ve been wondering about what would be best for you—even if you are just curious—what are you waiting for? Go ask Kati or Dr. G! They take so much time to get to know you, uncover what is right for you and come up with a plan for whenever you are ready [and the best part is that their consultations are free].
Anyway, I am getting a makeup lesson next week—do you want to be there? Let me know…
